I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, specializing in mental health disparities. My academic journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of the complexities of social class and socioeconomic status.
My research emphasizes the impact of perceived social status and social connectedness on psychological well-being. I am dedicated to exploring these themes in under studied populations and areas.
Our lab at Howard University is dedicated to reducing social inequity through targeting the psychological components of social class and socioeconomic status.

I work with people who have been finding their way but are now struggling due to change, loss, relationships, or life. My training as a Counseling Psychologist has prepared me to work with a wide variety of problems but I am particularly experienced working with grief, anxiety, problems from all types of relationships
My style is grounded in acceptance, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, and strengths-based approaches, but the key component is to find what works for you. I often help people reconnect with, find, and maximize the positives in life while accepting and adapting to the unwanted experiences. I offer telehealth and walking sessions.
